Following the successful conclusion of the M25 widening project,
junctions 12 to 15, Richard Pearson and his team at Associated
Asphalt Traffic Management have received high praise from key
figures overseeing the scheme.
When the tender for the works was first put out in 2002,
Associated Asphalt met with other agencies and construction
companies to fully discuss the traffic management details.
The frequent meetings continued throughout the project in order to
deal with perceived problems.
Martin Keel of Surrey Police Traffic/Safety Management
complimented them saying; ‘There is no doubt that if it was not for
the professionalism and attention to detail by those members of
Associated Asphalt’s M25 traffic management team involved in the
J12-J15 widening works, there would have been far more congestion
and delays to the travelling public. The way that the Traffic
Management has been installed, maintained and altered throughout
the various phases of the works, has contributed greatly to the
reduction in road traffic collisions and casualties normally
associated with such a major set of road works on a motorway’
These sentiments were echoed by Metropolitan Police Traffic
Manager, Alan Cousins, who highlighted Phil West as a key member of
staff who was at all times readily available for discussion and
extremely helpful throughout. He concluded that he looks forward to
working with the team in the future. Praise was also forthcoming
from the Highways Agency who referred to the Traffic Management as
‘exemplary’ and highlighted the low level of complaints and
subsequent lack of media interest throughout the project.
Staff involved in the scheme have much to be proud of for their
helpful approach, professionalism and thorough method of working
throughout the project.
